LIL BABY
COVER ART FOR
In collaboration with the creative team GMO, VDK, and Parqj, we worked on one of Lil Baby’s latest singles, “Try to Love,” from the album LEAKS, released in late 2025.
Creative direction and design were led by GMO and myself,
with refinements by VDK and animation by Parqj.
FROM IDEA TO FINAL CONCEPT
The creative process began with direction from management to incorporate water as a key visual element featuring Lil Baby. From there, a range of concepts were developed, experimenting with composition, mood, and symbolism.
Color toning played a central role in shaping the emotional narrative of “Try to Love,” with subdued hues and controlled contrasts used to amplify the song’s themes of vulnerability and emotional tension before arriving at the final artwork.
These concepts were developed during the creative process but were not selected for the final release. They are presented here to showcase the range of ideas and visual directions explored leading up to the final artwork.
